This 4 day tour does not cover San Francisco.
If your friend took a tour that covers both San Francisco and Las Vegas from LA, the tour most likely was a 7 day tour:

The itinerary for August 26th is as follows:
Day 1: Las Vegas
Day 2: Las Vegas - Grand Canyon West
Day 3: Grand Canyon West - Los Angeles
You would not be able to end the tour in Las Vegas on that date.
If the tour did depart from Las Vegas to Los Angeles on the last day and you depart in Las Vegas, you would forego the Chocolate Factory and Tanger Outlet Center.

The entire group stays the the same hotel.
If the tour has airport transfers on the first/last day, it will not pick-up customers from different hotels.
It is possible that you will not have the same tour guide for the entire tour.

You would be able to schedule your own activities on day 1.
If you make a pre-tour extension with us, there is a possibility that we can pick up you up at the airport before your tour begins.
We would have to confirm that when you make a reservation, but a fee will also apply.

Yes, if you end your tour in Las Vegas, you will opt out of the Tanger Outlet visit on the way back to Los Angeles.

We cannot specify the time you will be arriving in Las Vegas because it will depend on weather and traffic.
The travel time between San Francisco and Las Vegas is approximately 10 hours.
